A. Yes, the Razer Blade’s SSD supports TRIM. TRIM optimizes performance and prolongs the life of your SSD.
Q. Can I upgrade my NVIDIA GeForce GT555M with a later NVIDIA or AMD graphics module?
A. The Razer Blade features a custom GT555M design that is integrated into the motherboard and does not utilize a removable MXM module. Because of the unique design, upgrades are not available.
Q. Does the Razer Blade support NVIDIA 3DTV Play?
A: Yes, the Razer Blade features an NVIDIA GT 555M graphics card that supports NVIDIA 3DTV playback. You will be able to watch 3D on an NVIDIA 3D ready display using an HDMI 1.4 certified connection and cable.
Q. How do I run my games or applications at optimal performance?
A. The Razer Blade features two graphics processors, (Intel HD graphics, and NVIDIA GT555M Graphics) If you would like optimal performance, be sure to set your program to utilize the NVIDIA GT555M graphics processor. Right click on your desktop and click “NVIDIA Control Panel.” Under “Manage 3D settings”, click on the “Program Settings” tab. Select or Add the program you wish to run and select the preferred graphics processor to run High-performance NVIDIA processor.
Q. Does the Razer Blade come with bloatware?
A. Razer understands how important it is to keep a bloatware free environment on your brand new Blade. The Razer Blade comes with no bloatware preinstalled.
Q. Do I have to create a Synapse 2.0 account?
A. Yes, you will need to create a Synapse 2.0 account in order to take full advantage of your switchblade UI. After installing Synapse 2.0, please create an account using the software. To do so, simply provide an email address and password, and agree to the subscription agreement and privacy policy. Please note that a verification email will be sent to activate your Synapse 2.0 account.
Q. Do I need to stay logged in to Synapse 2.0 at all times?
A. You will need to log into Synapse 2.0 through the internet at least once to use your standard switchblade applications. You do not need to stay logged in to Synapse 2.0, but we advise that you do in order to get the best switchblade experience, including real time updates and syncing of your custom settings to the cloud.
Q. What happens if my internet disconnects?
A. Synapse 2.0 will continue to function even if your internet disconnects as long as you check the “stay logged in” box on the login screen. Razer strongly advises all users to stay logged in.
Q. Will the Razer Blade be compatible with other Synapse 2.0 devices?
A. Yes, any device that is Synapse 2.0 ready will automatically sync your custom settings with the cloud.

Q. How do I launch a webpage with the Switchblade UI.

- Open Notepad and type in the following text: start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer" iexplore.exe www.razerzone.com
- Create a folder to save all your favorite shortcuts. Save the file as ___ .bat file. (Example: razerzone.bat)
- Launch Synapse 2.0 and select the Switchblade key you wish to launch the shortcut with. Select “Launch Program” and open the .bat file (Example: razerzone.bat)
- Press the assigned Switchblade key and your shortcut will launch instantly.

Confirm the file works properly by double clicking the .bat file. If it launches the website or folder as you desired, you have confirmed it is functioning properly and is ready to be used with Synapse 2.0.
Q. The image on the Switchblade UI tactile keys appears blurry when looking at it directly from the top.
A. The Switchblade UI tactile keys were engineered to project images from an LCD, which sits below the surface, at a directional angle to the user that is optimized when the user is seated and facing the front of their monitor.
Q. Does the Razer Blade feature a system recovery mode?
A. Yes, system recovery is achieved simply by pressing the F9 key when booting your system. A Blade Recovery Stick is also available for purchase to restore your Razer Blade to its factory default state.
Q. Why doesn’t my Razer Blade come with a Windows 7 OS CD?
A. Because the Razer Blade does not feature an optical drive, everything needed to restore your system is on a recovery partition.
Q. Does the Razer Blade offer high quality audio features?
A. The Razer Blade features 2 channel audio with Dolby Home Theater v4 and integrated Digital 7.1 Surround audio support (via HDMI 1.4).
Q. Why doesn’t my Razer Blade have an optical drive? How can I install applications without an optical drive?
A. As digital downloads become the standard, Razer eliminated the optical drive to make the Razer Blade even thinner. You can purchase a USB based external optical drive to pair with the Razer Blade.
Q. How do I use the additional functions indicated on my keyboard?
A. In order to take advantage of the additional functions on the Razer Blade, hold the “FN” key and press the specified function key.
Q. What do the different colors on my status indicator mean?
A. The front Led indicator shines on only when the lid is closed. The power button indicator shines on when the lid is open. White = Sleep mode, Green = On, Dim Red = Low Battery (15 minutes left), Bright Red = Lower Battery (3 minutes left). Note* The status indicator is not a HDD indicator.
Q. My internet or Wi-Fi connection indicates that I am connected to the network, but I am unable to connect to the internet. What should I do?
A. Please check to ensure you are connected to the network with any necessary encrypted passwords. If you still have issues, please contact your local internet provider to ensure there is a stable connection. Please check your modem and router settings to ensure they are working properly. If you still have problems connecting, please call Razer’s Technical Support.
Q. Will I void the warranty by opening up or upgrading my Razer Blade’s components on my own?

Q. How long is the warranty on the Razer Blade, and can I purchase an extended warranty?
A. The Razer Blade comes with a one year limited warranty and a one year limited warranty on the battery. You may purchase an extended warranty from the Razer store. Should you choose to purchase these plans, please keep a copy of your receipt for your record.

A. In order to be eligible, you must register your Razer Blade. You can purchase and register the Extended Warranty option within the first 90 days of purchase.
Q. What does the Extended Warranty option cover?
A. The Extended Warranty extends the terms of the original warranty with the exception of the battery, which is limited to a one year warranty. In the case of any manufacturer defects on the Razer Blade, you are entitled to a hardware warranty service if a repair is required within the limited warranty period. The Razer Blade must be registered, and the extended warranty must be purchased within 90 days from the date of Blade purchase to be eligible. Q. Why isn’t the battery part of the extended warranty plan?
A. Batteries have an expected life span and will wear out with normal usage. This type of normal and expected wear is not covered under the extended warranty.

A. Extended Warranty plans cannot be purchased for other Razer products at this time.
