Q. What is the Switchblade User Interface, and what does it do?
A. The Razer Switchblade UI is what you see on the right side of the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Gaming Keyboard by Razer™. This includes the 10 Dynamic Adaptive Tactile Keys, and the Multi-Touch LCD Track Panel below.
The Razer Switchblade UI is an all-new innovative user interface designed from the ground up to make your gaming experience more efficient, intuitive and exciting. You can bind an infinite number of commands, skills and macros to the 10 Dynamic Adaptive Tactile Keys, both with user created icons and custom icons from Star Wars™: The Old Republic™! The Razer Switchblade UI is fully customizable for users who prefer to define their own keysets and macros.
The revolutionary Multi-Touch LCD Track Panel is capable of two modes: one mode allows display of information (such as a web browser, YouTube, etc) in full vibrant color, while the other functions as an ultra-sensitive, multi-touch panel.
Q. The image on the Switchblade UI tactile keys appears blurry when looking at it directly from the top.
A. The Switchblade UI tactile keys were engineered to project images from an LCD, which sits below the surface, at a directional angle to the user that is optimized when the user is seated and facing the front of their monitor.
Q. Does the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Gaming Keyboard by Razer™ have anti-ghosting technology?
A. Yes! The Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Gaming Keyboard by Razer™ features extreme anti-ghosting technology across its keyset that allows up to 10 simultaneous key presses.
Q. What are the 5 extra gaming buttons used for?
A. These are dedicated keys on the keyboard specifically designed to bind macros to or to reprogram into specific functions required by the user. Macros enable a user to program one button on a peripheral to perform a string of timed commands, whenever the button is pressed.
Q. What do the Aurebesh symbols on the keys represent?
A. Aurebesh is a writing system from the Star Wars™ universe. The Aurebesh symbols you see on the keyboard correspond to the respective alphanumeric lettering on the individual keys.
Q. Will I be able to type in Aurebesh?
A. Since the Aurebesh symbols on the keys correspond to the alphanumeric lettering on a standard keyboard layout, you will indeed be able to type in Aurebesh if you have the proper font installed. This, however, is program dependent. Some programs might not allow for input of custom fonts.
Q. Can I customize the multi-color LED lighting on the keyboard?
A. Yes, you can. You can customize the multi-color LED lighting that runs around the edge of the keyset. However, the individual keys are yellow backlit and cannot be changed.
