these things will impress you right out of installation about how you listen to things. i have a 1080p monitor so i have bluray movies that look amazing on it though. my old speakers were pretty decent, but nothing like this! now my speakers SOUND as good as it looks on my monitor. feels like i'm in a movie theater almost. makes downloading FLACs worth it, as well as other high quality audio formats. it allows you to hear all the smaller details that are obscured by lesser quality speakers. these are simply the best speakers i've ever used, and i'd recommend them to anyone. one thing i should add though is that i'm running these speakers in combination with my HT | OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 sound card, so that adds to how amazing music sounds on my computer, but even without it these speakers would still sound amazing. i can't imagine a day coming up when i own these speakers and am not amazed by them. buy them asap. ASAP!!! | 2. michael on 1/22/10 said:
If you are going to buy a desktop 2.1 system. This is the only one to consider. You wont believe the sound quality and the construction quality.
THX/Razer has raised the bar in speaker engineering!! | 3. Maximillian on 1/9/10 said:
Pros: The ClassHD amplifier makes a HUGE difference as well as the drivers themselves. They have an EXCELLENT frequency range and I haven't heard any major distortion even at the very highs and very lows. At one of my buddies house I heard a speaker systems (it was a 7.1 system) that cost in excess of $140 and I must say in terms of actual sound quality that the Mako hangs REALLY close to that. I also really enjoy the actual design of the speakers. Having the speakers face the desk makes them incredibly easy to clean and have a really cool futuristic look to them. The downward firing of the system really helps the sound "envelope" the area. The remote is extremely easy to use. I love that you can quickly switch between Line1 and Line2 so quickly can plug in headphones or an MP3 player or adjust volume/bass all in one handy little circle.
Cons: It really brings out how low-quality my school laptop's audio output is. That's not really a con though. I kind of expected a shortcoming like that from a fruit.
Other thoughts: -Let me start by listing what I was used to listening to for the purpose of giving an idea of my experience with speakers/sound quality: I had a Bose 201 series speaker system (very old but still a pretty decent setup) and Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones (cost $200). I consider my ears to be quite fine-tuned to sound quality. Right out of the box though these blew me away. -I hope for there to eventually be a way to expand the system to a 5.1 or 7.1 even if it requires using another outlet. | 4. shaun on 9/26/09 said:
this system is so good i ordered a second one for my dad. i use this system as the speaker system for my new computer and as my entertainment systems sound delivery. (i use my big screen hdtv as my monitor and talk about immersion. movies and music sound crisp explosions are delivered. this is an amazing system. thank you Razer! | 5. Matthew on 9/7/09 said:
This product is the best speaker system I have every heard for the computer before I bought this system I tried out Logitech and none of their speakers systems came close to comparing to these. At first they seem a bit expensive but they are definitely worth the price. | 6. MELVIN TNG on 7/18/09 said:
It may look like a set of black Tonga drums but you won't need to thump them to unleash the thundering sounds from within.
Consisting a huge subwoofer and two satellite speakers - all shaped like orbs and with a smooth surface at the top that you can drum on the Razer Mako sounds a lot more powerful than it looks.
That's because you won't see the usual tweeter and mid-driver (the round parts of the speaker which produce sound) staring at you in the face. In fact they are hidden facing vertically downwards inside so that the sound waves are fired downwards to create an omni-directional immersive sound experience. With Razer and THX working together to create this desktop sound system I was very impressed.
I tested the Mako extensively in World Of Warcraft playing my Tauren shaman character. I could hear the distinct differences between my shield blocks (which gets a thud sound) my axe strikes (which sound like clangs) and my lightning bolts and shock spells.
Running down the Zoram Strand beach I could hear the waves rushing to the shore on my left as I chopped down naga warriorsalong the way.
But the coolest sounding damage came from my Magma totem.
I could feel the blood rush to my head as the speakers and woofer shook to the rhythm of the Magma blasts which went off in all directions every two seconds.
Setting up the Mako was a breeze. Connect one cable each from the woofer to each of the two satellites the power cable from the woofer to the mains and finally the 3.5mm mini plug from the woofer to the PC. The woofer also has red and white composite cables so you can also link it to your TV DVD player and game consoles.
To control the volume and bass you are presented with a circular control pad which can also be connected to the woofer. Everything here is touch-sensitive.
Touch and hold the Razer logo in the middle of the pad and you turn the system on and off. You can change the volume by first pressing on the VOL words and then sliding your finger across the perimeter of the circular pad.
Touch BASS and do the same to increase the booms. Connect one output to your PC and another to a second device like your DVD player and you can easily switch between them simply by touching Line 1 and Line 2 respectively on your control pad.
FINAL SAY
The Razer Mako is an awesome sound system set which looks really good and sounds even better. All gamers with sufficient gold should seriously get one before donning their battle armour. | 7. Dave Matthews on 11/6/08 said:
I just got my set bought it Direct from Razer $399.99 and $50 odd shipping. Got it in less than a week. Thumbs up to the guys behind the online store.
Let me tell you frankly The Razer Mako's are immensely immensely musical. My Father is a Hi-fi junkie often spending 6 figure sums on his setup. hes a loonie when it comes to audiophilunacy and I picked up a thing or 2 abt music systems from him and hanging around these so called "hi-fidelity" machines.
Well back to the Makos these dome shaped canisters are solidly built with nice metallic etched THX logos on each pod. I fired up iTunes and proceeded to play my Fav songlist sat back and close my eyes.
As the music poured from the curvaceous pods... you notice how the system waved a seamless sound that's packed with detail and delivered with an exciting enthusiasm....often producing a lively and fast sound while keeping a relatively even tonal balance; the treble is sweet without lacking bite or insight.
What amazed me was how the Makos managed to project the vocals from the center stage... the separation capabilities of this machine is FANTASTIC. Tts amazing Nora Jone's vocals were sonically coming out from the middle yet the instruments were CLEARLY around it... crisp tight.. musical. I was awestruck.. its been sometime since I've been excited with a piece of hardware so I kinda wet myself on this one... was this the omni directional at work? probable. but it was truly truly amazing.
If you're looking for speakers at this price point you simply must have a listen to these. sorry I rephrase.. YOU HAVE TO BUY THESE. you will not regret it. | 8. aroth724 on 9/29/08 said:
They are deffinitaly worth the price. just like any other razer product they produce a great quality! The aux in is a great feature with the touch volume control. These speakers blew my other 2.1 system away. Great sound great look only thing that suprised me out of the box was the sub it was bigger than i thought but other than that i feel like im at the theater! goes great with all the other razer products | 9. Steven Jackson on 9/13/08 said:
These are great looking and sounding speakers! I think anyone would be very happy to have these on thier destop. The sup-wooker sounds better on the floor but do not put it on carpet. Place it on a hard surface. One mistake I feel was made was matching up this speaker system with their sound card and the headphones. THX and Razer should have included a digital optical input which would have made a high end system that would match up with all their quality gear. But I still give it a 5 star rating.

I bought my Megalodons about 3 months ago and have thoughly played and tested them befor making this review.
Let me start by how they feel on ur head. Imagin sitting at a table beer in one hand and some nice warm tits dropping down over ur head. yup their comfy.
How do they sound ?? well in CSS u can hear shells hitting the ground. thses puppies can play every sound the games putting out and not distort. for movies their amazing to.
Quality and shipping. The box they came in was like an awemored tank! and the crafting of this item is mint. These truly are the cream of the crop.
Price is well .... unfortunelty like everything today expensive for good quality. but hey if u got the money to buy them just do it. u wont look back. and if u dont like them well. sellem to ur buddy. he will like them and be happy to give u half price :D
5/5 good job razer. | 2. Domestic Animal Owner on 12/31/09 said:
I used this headset for about a week, the sound was pure, and sound exactly like 7.1 channel surround sound. At first it sounded muffled compared to my old headphones, only because I was used to hearing sound with a lack of bass. Though after a few days, I thought it sounded absolutely perfect. It works well with all games I have tested, including source games. The drivers install instantly for both Windows XP x32, and Windows 7 x64 without any problems. However, there were a few bandwidth issues, which I expect because I also have a Logitech G15 gaming keyboard. As well as with most Windows 7 x64 owners, there were issues with sound cutting out, which I also experienced. However after disabling application priorities for the device in the control panel, it seemed to happen less frequently.
However, every night when I went to sleep, I would tuck them away back in their case, but leave the Maelstrom Panel on my desk, and tuck the wires underneath my keyboard. However, last night I did not and I suffer the consequences. My cat. whom I love dearly, decided to have a feast on a perfect, tender but soft wire. I woke up this morning to a loud thump, to find my headset cable ripped apart at ease, and the headset not working at all. The LED's would not light up, and there was absolutely no sound produced at all.
My suggestion is, do not be lazy. Take care of this headset, and take the time to put it away in a case every night. Especially if you have an animal who may check your desk for treats at night. As an alternative, it may fit in the box easier with the wires and prevent them from twisting or bending.
Listening to these old headphones makes sound seem black and white. | 3. Rasmus on 12/9/09 said:
The best Headset i ever had. if u got the money go buy it ;) <3 | 4. Chris on 12/4/09 said:
I got these headphones in expecting them to sound like a cheap pair of 150.00 headphones. For you audiophiles out there you know what I mean: tinny, shallow, airy, extreme bass distortion, etc. I found none of that with the Megalodons. In fact I would directly compare the 2.0 sound quality of these headphones with that of the Bose quiet comfort 2’s and 3’s. The 7.1 is amazing. In every game I have played I can actually hear what is behind me, and the direction of it, at all times. Thank you so much Razer for these amazing beasts that have just “razerfied” my world. | 5. XellKhaar on 11/20/09 said:
This works just like it should. Awesome sound quality, button to switch between 2.0 and 7.1 for stuff that doesn't support surround sound. The mic is good quality too. All those retards who say the mic doesn't work obviously just don't know how to set it up or something... although I didn't really have to set mine up, it just worked. Anyway their problems are user-specific, and should not deter you from buying this. I love Razer product but the mic works 1 minuet and dusent work the next.
PLEASE RAZER FIX THIS PROBLEM!!! | 7. Filipe on 8/28/09 said:
i rly recommend this headset, amazing sound and i had no problems with it u guys rly put the sound in its place | 8. Eyvin on 8/25/09 said:
Well worth the money, the sound quality and bass are great. 4/5 because of the built in driver having issues with a few programs namely ventrilo. With luck a firmware update should remedy this headsets slight set backs. | 9. Saiyajin on 8/18/09 said:
Awesome sound, bass is amazing, overall performance is savage.
Mic is crystal clear, to all you that complain about it read the manual and you will find that the mic sensitivity and mic level correct your issue.
Recommend to any gamer.
Looking for some firmware updates to fix little things. | 10. Kevin on 7/30/09 said:
Razer has truly outdone themselves. First I have been impressed with my Razer HP-1 Headset and AC-1 Audio card, but now... I just can't believe they were able an even more amazing pair of headphones. I put these through the tests any gamer would expect to do. the game Crysis and it's high sound quality paired with these headphones left me looking over my shoulder and watching my back from the voices coming from behind me in such perfect quality.

I got these to replace my Barracudas and though the sound from the Barracuda's is phenominal, I was constantly stricken with headaches. I just got these headphones and they are nice and lightweight, everyone can hear me clearly, my ears aren't sore when I take them off, they're great! This headset is so good. It's got everything I've ever thought would be better with all the previous ones I've owned. The muffs are big enough to go over my whole ear comfortably. The material on the inside of the muffs are about half a centimeter away from the speaker itself, so if you have large ears they won't be pushing on the plastic casing of the speaker and it won't get uncomfortable. I've had that problem with most of my other headsets. Your ear lobe sits comfortably in them and doesn't get stuck between the side of your head and the round bit. All the material is VERY soft and it's so light. I've been wearing it for about 8 hours a day for almost a week now and it doesn't start to hurt your neck after a while. It also doesn't feel like one side is being pulled down more than the other because the cable is heavy, as this cable's braided and very light. The volume control on this would be irritating but they've made up for that by putting a clip on it so you can attach it to your pocket or something and can't feel it. The sound quality's also very sharp and the microphone's very clear. I can't express how happy with this product I am and if you're considering getting one, it's definitely worth it! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a headset that they can wear for 10 hours+, want clear, high quality sound and a microphone they can get out of the way when they want to. I got these to replace a 4 year old set of Logitechs. These are better on the ears, and as I run an internet radio, I wear them 4 or 5 hours at a stretch. The cloth pads are a godsend, as is the top pad. Sound quality is phenomenal. The microphone is good quality also. The only drawback is the microphone seems to echo a bit when I talk. I'm not sure if this is related to the software I use to stream or not. | 6. Vladislav on 1/8/10 said:
I got the headset today and I'm realy happy about it. The bass is outstanding ,the sound quality too. With FPS games and hight quality music ,it performs a lot ,really a lot better then the other headsets I have used in the past. Everyone there who is thinking to buy it ...don't think, just buy :) | 7. Anthony on 1/4/10 said:
I've gone through a lot of headsets in my years of gaming, and this is by far the most enjoyable, and most comfortable I've ever used. My wife is very pleased that I will not be buying a new one any time soon. I have bought this headset a day ago and when I plugged them in to my laptop, I was very excited. When I started to play Counter Strike I was very amazed! It made it sound so real. I would recommend buying this headset! | 9. Cyndi on 12/30/09 said:

Ive hear some people complaining about these earphones hurting your ears, and that is somewhat true. These are a bit of a tight fit at first but provide an incredibly comfortable fit after being worn for about a week. When i wear mine now, i sometimes forget im even wearing earphones, lucky the cord is durable enough to handle me trying to walk away from the computer when its still plugged in...
What more can i say, razer have really done their homework here, the result? an amazing sounding pair of earphones with great frequency response. Don't get me wrong, im no audiophile, but to me, the average gamer, these are all i could ever want in a pair of headphones, and more!
Another great product to live up to my razer expectations | 2. Jeremy on 8/28/09 said:
I'd would like to say that this Pirana has very clear and crisp sound but theres a problem im having...im just not satisfied with the volume because i like blasting my ears or maybe i have a problem..I plugged the jacks and the USb to my razer lycosa extention and i cant put the volume anymore higher...i tried maxing out the windows volume and the pirana's volume and also the keyboards volume adjustment all to the MAX but my pirana's volume just isnt loud enough and it sounds moderate...can anyone help me with this problem? | 3. Just know that the Piranha is the World's Leader in On-Ear Headphones.. My last Creative Fatal1ty cant survive this. Warcraft III, CS Source, Titan Quest Immortal Throne, CS 1.6... I could say a whole lot. Or, like me, you could just get a pair of these, and then just listen. Incredible coverage of the spectrum of sound. You almost forget theres a microphone, and that your supposed to talk into it. | 6. Azizul on 3/22/09 said:
I was sceptical about Razer's audio credibilities... I was proved wrong when I bought this Razer.... I thought my Razer Lachesis was enough but I was lacking from the sound department.....
This thing PWNED my other headsets... Even My Fatal1ty.......
I'm still shock by the Piranha..... one word to sum it up?
EPIC | 7. Muggz on 3/18/09 said:
I bought these about 2 months ago and all I can say is INCREDIBLE! I am truly impressed, especially considering the other headphones in this price range. These put out just an absolute crisp, clean sound, with a very very good bass output. These do not crackle at higher volumes, you can tell the speakers are made very well. The ear cushions are perfect! I mean not too tight, and always seems to mold around you. The microphone is crystal clear, I speak to family back home, and they always say how great it sounds. These are a must buy! You cannot go wrong. | 8. Ian W on 12/26/08 said:
This headset is awesome! Before now i could only wear a headset for about 15-20 minutes before it started to hurt my ears but with the piranha the earpiece is cushioned and very comfortable. also i had problems with the mic on all the headsets ive had before this one, but now with the piranha everyone tells me I'm coming through crystal clear. Thanks guys one more awesome periphiral from razer!!! | 9. Datommaster on 12/1/08 said:
I CAME BUCKETS. These head phones are completely worth the money.
Firstly they are so comfortable, I can wear them hours on end with no pain in my ears.
Secondly, the bass and sound quality is AMAZING. They seriously shit all over my last pair of logitech.
Thirdly, the microphone is absolutely AWESOME. My last pair of head phones kept picking up all my fans in my case, including my huge heatsink's fan, These ones barely pick up any tractor"" noises as my fellow clan mates called them.
Lastly great price and look great.
If you were looking for a budget solution to the barracuda or megalodon then these ARE the pair for you! | 10. Fred Jones on 10/15/08 said:

I play 2 games mainly... World Of Warcraft, and Quake Live. When I first for these headphones I was really impressed with the quality when listening to music on my iPhone. When I got home, I was super excited to try it in my gaming... awesome. I can hear everything SUPER clear.
All of the people I play with use Ventrilo, and they all said I sounded great over the mic and were wondering what I was using. Well done RAZER... you did it again.
Awesome product. Two words, 'Kick Ass'.
They are lightweight and when I first used them my expression was, Wow!" Great sound and compact. | 3. Bryan on 8/23/09 said:
Just don't expect it to be a great companion for music. It's decent though. Bought primarily for the versatility the pouch is an excellent companion. I fit another pair of earpiece in there too. Buy the moray+ if you move around a lot. Oh and as they said the omni directional mic works good. Roughly 3-4 feet away sound is still clear and still is very audible with no background interference. | 4. Izumi on 8/20/09 said:
I got a pair of Razer Moray+ a few weeks ago from a local reseller. When I plug it into my mp3 phone (Nokia 5730 XpressMusic) the bass is kinda weak. I haven't had the opportunity to test it on other mp3 players but when I plug it into my PSP and my PC it works GREAT! Great job Razer! | 5. DeTeRMiNaTioN on 8/18/09 said:
Alright So today I got my Black Razer Moray+ Mobile Gaming Communicator and I was completely blown away. I bought these at Amazon and they came within a Day from a Free 2 Day shipping I got with them. These are so amazing! The sound is wonderful and Pure. The String is perfect length the design is wonderful. The noice cancellation isnt the best but it works. Another negative is the Price. I bought mine for $50 the Moray without Mic is $40. Thats a 10-20$ difference just for a Mic. Which in my opinion is extremely High. Apples ear phones are 20-25 without Mic and 27 with mic. Thats a 5-7$ difference. If you have the money then get these. Defeintly Worth it. Thanks for a great product Razer! | 6. buri3dkha0s on 7/13/09 said:

This product works great with anything. I mainly use it with my iPod because I do not own a psp yet. It cancels most noise. Gives great feed back. And sense it is noise canceling it the volume does not have to be up so high to hear clearly which takes the stress of the speakers. On the back of the ear buds they have the same matt finish as their mice. Great looking logo on the back. Different size ear buds. I think it is also gold plated (maybe). Cord is very small but very light and quite long. It actually saved me a couple times, one time on a baby packed air plane, and once at a air port that was having a fire alarm test for 30 minutes. Great ear buds. Great product Razer. These earphones are easily the best pair i have ever owned. the quality of the sound they put out is astounding for a product in this price range. the noise isolation works very well and the earphones are very comfortable to wear. The cord is nice and long and gives plenty of flexibility for movement. Razer have done it again with another great product. | 5. Heeshung on 1/8/09 said:
-Already expected a great product from Razer, and the Moray STILL exceeded my expectations.
-Despite the seemingly low frequency response of 11kHz, there was no sign of that spec in the rich, crisp sound that emerged from these great earphones.
-Lows, highs, and mids are all perfectly balanced.
-No range was overpowering, even the lower bass range.
-Crisp, clear sound lets you hear every single detail in music and every footstep in games.
-Doesn't matter whether you use these for gaming or music, the Moray kicks ass in both.

I have it for at least 2, 3 years...
Very good sound, the 5.1 really works. It's not like a real home theater, but it's worty the money and the lack of people arguing with you about the sound volume.
Must buy! I got these a few weeks ago and I've been 'testing' heavily since then. The quality is amazing, bass isn't exactly cheek rippling, but it's pretty good. They are extremely comfortable, and very sturdy. Next up is the AC-1 | 3. Poofypants on 8/24/09 said:
I've had a pair of these for over a year, I can easily wear them for over 6 hours. Sound is good, bass doesn't come close to my BOSE set. I get a slight static noise as well, which my bose set eliminates. Lights no longer work, from the slight continual tugging on the cord. Mic has always worked flawlessly.
Razor is lucky bose doesnt have a gaming set, but these are pretty good. | 4. DJ BOOGE on 8/10/09 said:
Good Sound GOOD MIC, GREAT LOOK! GREAT BUY! | 5. ryaN-123 on 8/8/09 said:
This headset is great, it cancels all the noise around me and the quailty of the ingame and outside of game is perfect! They fit around my ear very comfortably. The plugin mic is genius and it is not in my face like mouse mics, and yet, it has the best voice quality then the other headsets i have used in the past. Great Job! | 6. Andrea on 7/25/09 said:
I got these because I wanted a great pair of headphones. That I got. I didn't know you would need all the audio ports to use them fully. You have to either use your speaker system or the headphones. Not both. What I have done is plug my speaker system into the back of the pc, and only use a couple of channels on the headphones by plugging them into the ports on top of the case. I have a Rosewill Conqueror black edition case. That does work out well. Other than that, GREAT choice in gaming gear. You do hear everything. No surprises as long as you use all the channels. If I had to get another pair, I'd replace these with the same, or the Megaladon. | 7. David on 7/12/09 said:
I was thinking about if its gonna worth buying this product, and now, after about half year usage, I can admit, it is one of the greatest headphones ever. I can easily wait for my enemies, because I hear where they are, and kill them when they dont even know where I am. So I give a 5, though after a while it hurts my ears:( But apart from that, its a great choice for a headset:) | 8. Freddy on 7/11/09 said:
My brother bought these headphones a couple months ago and when i went to a lan with him i got to use them..they where really great..you could hear your enemy before they even saw you...but there is one small problem..you guys should try to make them in green..like your keyboards..try to make the backlight in them green..maybe you guys could make a battle light in green...that would be awesome...because i have a computer with green lights and it is really hard to find anything like these items that match my computer..and i really dont want to use anything other than razer!! GO RAZER!!! | 9. Argya M on 6/18/09 said:

Awesome Sound! Way better than the Realtek onboard I had.
You guys really did it! I'm very thankful that the Sound Card is working great on Vista | 2. Skyler Gioiosa on 1/7/09 said:
i cant give this brand name a 1 star rating but i sure as hell will give it a 2 star rating. really i cant be mad at razer but i sure as hell can get mad at there lack of a good driver for windows vista. vista has been out for well over 2 years now and still in beta testing for the sound card haha. really i just have never gotten a break from this terrible OS and i wish i didnt have to subject my sound card to this D; but still i was hoping to see razer's help, which they did, but to no a vale with there beta drivers. my audio output keeps messing up by only coming out of the front left and right or just the left and no right or just no sound at all and the bass is kicking. really i have never been so upset trying to fix this sound card by surfing the web and razers homepage to find atleast a descent solution. my gaming is somewhat lacking because my sounds are coming out of different parts of the headphones and people arent even in that general direction. but really this sound card is amazing with all the features it packs and if you make your own rig i suggest this for gamers that love razer. now my whole setup is complete with all razer equipment :D but i hope razers finds a solution soon!!! | 3. VISTA: DOWNLOADED THE DRIVERS DIRECTLY.
I was expecting to have to download, install, and troubleshoot for hours when I put this card in. I was thinking that, like all my previous Creative cards, you would have to allow 2 or more hours of troubleshooting when installing a new card. BUT NOT W/ THIS CARD!!! It worked right after I installed the driver! WHAT!!! It just cannot be that easy, I thought. But it was! GREAT PRODUCT! | 4. Matthew Henson on 7/17/08 said:
This card rocks. I never expected how much better the sound is with this card over the Creative cards. After having so many problems with the Creative products I started looking around for another brand too use. Since i had become a great fan of Razer I have been looking at this card for quite some time now. I finally broke down and bought this card. I must say it is well worth the money. I kick myself for not getting it earlier. It is a solid card and looks great. The design it perfect with the inside connections at the end for wiring. The audio software options that comes with the card is very easy too use if you can just take the time too sit back and look at it. Although; if you have Vista you need to download the software and drivers as the disk only comes ready for Windows XP. The card itself has Dolby Digital, dolby Digital Pro Logic II, and DTS. It supports EAX which is good. It may not be as new of a EAX as the Creative cards but the quality of the EAX seems to be a lot better for some reason. You have Environmental Effects that can be used as well as Environmental room size. It also comes with an Equalizer with Presets for different types of music selections; like country, rock, etc., etc.,. And has the ability to set up your own profiles.
I tested this on the BF2142 and it blew my mind.
Their is a lot more that I can go into on this but it is getting to be a bit long already. I will have a full review posted in the forums that I frequent. EAUK Forums under VectorRoll.
I would highly recommend this card over any Creative card in a heartbeat. The difference in the sound is so obvious and so much better that it astounds me. And I have had many Creative cards to compare this too. You can definitely tell that it was made for gaming. So if any of you get the chance to pick this card up; then you should. You will not be disappointed. | 5. Jason Banks on 5/7/08 said:
I agree. solid piece of hardware! top notch audio quality. clear signals all round. I have the Hp-1 and the pair works wonderfully. | 6. Janiew Aaltonena on 5/6/08 said:
Pro's: -Sound quality is fantastic, even when paired with my old 2.1 speaker setup. With the hp-1's, the sound quality is stunning compared to anything else I've owned or tried. -Control Panel is fairly intuitive, with only a slight learning curve. -Equalizer gives you so many possibilities it's crazy! -Positional sound in games is astonishing! (I play CS:S) The very first day i played after i got this sound-card, i was accused of walling cause i could hear sounds from so far. Awesome! =) -Installation was very easy. Cons -Equalizer gives you so many possibilities it's crazy!(definite learning curve there) -I found the default ;presets; to be kind of ;extreme;, which made them poor as presets, but fantastic as guidelines or learning tools when making your own custom presets. Overall: With a little tinkering, i now have the most amazing sound I've ever heard, coming out of my hp-1's, and I'm loving every second of it
