Ergonomics: The DeathAdder has an ergonomic (hand-shaped) design that fits the palm of my hand perfectly for optimum comfort. Left-Handed and Right-Handed models are available. I've used it for a few hours at a time but still haven't suffered any hand or finger aches. I had no trouble changing from a Razer Diamondback to this mouse even though the shape is very different. With the Diamondback I was using a claw grip but now I use the palm grip style because the DeathAdder fits my palm very well. The rubberised covering feels really nice and helps with grip if your hands get warm and sweaty.

Precision: It provides up to 3500dpi using a 3.5G infrared sensor; you can pick from 450dpi, 900dpi, 1800dpi (the default) and 3500dpi. It also provides up to 1000Hz polling rate to speed up communications with the computer; you can pick from 125Hz, 500Hz (the default) and 1000Hz.

Buttons: It has 5 buttons which can be programmed to other actions. The only change I made was to set the side thumb buttons to On-The-Fly Sensitivity (which I use with the scroll wheel to decrease or increase mouse speed in game when switching from Recon sniper to Assault guns) and Windows Button 4 (for quick melee/knife action in games).

Size: It's classed by Razer as a Large Palm mouse, but it fits my medium-sized hand very well, and can be used in Claw grip style if you don't have small hands. 128mm (length) x 70mm (width) x 42.5mm (height); weight 133g (medium). It's noticeably smaller than some Palm mice such as the Roccat Kone mouse which I found big, heavy and painful to use for long gaming sessions.

Mat: Razer recommends the Goliathus cloth mouse mat for the DeathAdder. At the moment I'm using the Everglide TiTan cloth mat which seems to be fine for this mouse. Don't use a hard mat.

My Diamondback gave me 5 years and 5,000 hours of trouble-free gaming. I hope the DeathAdder will perform likewise. So far highly recommended. :)

I bought my DeathAdder around two years ago now and I'm so glad I did, Its more then fast enough for FPS and really comfortable for them hours and hours of raiding on MMO's. The mouse preforms well all-round and for such a low price tag its a must have for any one who's serious about their gaming or for someone who wants a mouse that offers good control and is fast and smooth to use.

I have bundled mine with a Razer eXactMat and Razer Armadillo mainly just so everything matched on my desk but the eXactMat is actually a very good mouse mat in its own right and with the option of the Control or Speed sides its sure to suit everyones needs.

Its that good I would give it a ***** Star rating!

  4. 3. MoleMania on 4/23/10 rated this product:

First impressions always last, and Razer is no exception! Being greeted with the magnificent packaging was one thing, but the LED glows take the aesthetics of this mouse to a whole new level! I love the way this mouse glides across my eXact mat, the Teflon pads appear to be far superior to my previous MX518 pads.

One thing I've always loved about razer mice is the size of the mouse buttons, and the slight indents in on the seamless plastic top add to the comfort and style. I've never been a true macro gamer, so the two side buttons I set to adjust DPI in case I'm switching battle field roles - ie. going sniper for a few minutes. Works a charm. None of the buttons take much effort to press so the mouse doesn't move if I'm clicking on high sensitivity.

While these things are great, the main thing I love about this mouse is the shape and ergonomics. Unlike the dreaded Logitech 'Hump', the razer is somewhat low profile, ensuring my wrist isn't in an awkward situation in the air. This style works great for palm grip users, and is great for fingertip players too! This is helped by the low profile allowing your hand to sprawl out upon the top quite nicely, meaning no finger claustrophobia!

However, there are a few niggles I have, hence the 4 star rating. The sides are made of a slippy plastic that can get sticky after a while. I tend to ignore this in the heat of battle, but tend to notice it much more when browsing the web - where reaction and aim isn't the priority. A few extra buttons wouldn't do any harm, like on the lachesis or naga (!), but if you're a button freak you'd be buying those in the first place! I'd recommend this mouse to anyone looking for a smooth, comfortable and sexy gaming mouse.

  6. 5. Codexx on 11/18/09 rated this product:

Oh man, bought this mouse a few weeks ago, about a month, and with the Razer Exactmat X Control, and boy does it perform well. Im a keen gamer, yes it don't sound like much, World of Warcraft, but during PVP it owns everything.. Recently ordered a Razer Lycosa Mirror Keyboard, hoping it to out-perform my Current Saitek Cyborg Keyboard, it's ugly as hell, and the buttons are slowly dying off one by one.

The mouse overall has the fasest, and best response time i can ask for, it gives high sensitivity but with high precision.

5/5 for me, stylish, practical for every day use, and excells all expectations from razer being it my first product.
